My love affair with the Musical Ride began in 1996 at the Royal Winter Fair. Mounties on their jet-black mounts performed precision formations to music. I was so captivated by this ‘poetry in motion’ that I contacted the Musical Ride. Ten years later this culminated in a book ‘The Spirit of the Ride’ authored by myself and Monique Cooper about this uniquely Canadian phenomenon. More than an equestrian experience, the Ride is a metaphor for life.
